Putting that aside, tonight I came home from work with my friend's dad. Our only train route home just had a human accident, someone jumped off the platform or something, and the train had stopped running. I told my friend's that that although the announcement had been urging passengers to take alternate routes, I had a feeling that it'll start moving soon because the train company will not let the train delay goes too long coz so many people are waiting, so let's just wait. But he insisted that because the announcement said so and offered me to wait in a nearby restaurant until the train resumes mobility. So we left the station.
While we were drinking and took our time, he continued to say that the delay won't recover in another hour. I told him that we should just stayed here for no more than 30 mins and should head back to the train station and see if things are back to normal. We stayed for about half an hour and then went back to the train station. The trains had already been working slowly for a while. The platform was packed with people, but fortunately we got on the train and were able to find our seats all the way home. Moreover, we were home much earlier than I had expected.
Giving tonight's case, I was right about my decision. I wouldn't say that I'm always right at things, but giving some reasonable thoughts and analysis, I felt that waiting in the platform was the only and better solution for tonight. My friend's dad relied on his past experience of long waited accidents and train delays, and simply ignored and rejected my considerations. However, every situation is different. Even if there's a slight chance, giving my own analysis, I am willing to take my chances and give things a try.
