Writing style

The other day at the gym, I had a chance to compare the writing of my Chinese name with others. I noticed that my writing was clean and organized, but somehow the stroke was soft and lack of power, pressure and creativity. Other people seem to write their names big, tight and in bold stroke, which look more appearing and visually dominant.

Creativity in writing stroke isn't that important I thought, as long as the writing is clean and readable, that's all it matters.

Today when I was doing my figure drawing, I let myself loose and tried to apply more pressure on my stroke and shading. Immediately I've noticed the dramatic change in the overall quality. It looks like it's something I've been lacking of in my drawing and my personality maybe; power and confidence.

Boy, one's writing does tell a lot about that person eh?
