Cherry blossom (Hanami)

Last year I came to Shinjyuku Gyoen (Shinjyuku Garden) for hanami, and this year I'm here again just in time to catch the falling sakura. It is always great to go out and get some sun; especially during this time of the year, it feels more dramatic when you can also enjoy the cherry blossoms.

Before I went to the garden, I bought the long camera lens that I've always wanted. It was a Sigma 70-300mm. Because I love taking photos of people, I figured that I will need a good long lens so I can shoot better portraits. After playing with it today, I realized that I might not need a lens up to 300mm, since I won't be standing too far from my subjects anyway. Well, it never hurts to have more options when shooting I guess.

Not much problems with the lens today, but sometimes, it's difficult to get my subjects in focus. Looks like I need to look into it on how to properly operate a long lens. Anyway, photos I took turned out great. Some happy accidents happened while trying to focus. Overall, I was happy with the debut of my new lens.
