My new computer

Yesterday I bought a new computer at Bic Camera. It was a Dell XPS420 with Core 2 Quad processor. It's a fast and powerful machine and I can't wait for its arrival.

To get this computer, I went online and studied a lot of its features. Like the differences between a Core 2 Duo and a Core 2 Quad processor, and what kinda of graphic card is best for the 3D packages I use, and etc. Before then, I didn't know much about computer specs. Though I am a 3D animator who use computer all the time, I have limited knowledge when it comes to hardwares. So, actually I didn't make a professional choice when selecting my old computer 4 years ago. Even when I was at the computer shop last week and talking to one of the sales clerk, I had no idea what kind of graphic card I was supposed to get. And the guy was just a sales clerk who had no idea what exactly I was looking for within my budget, so he suggested me with a very high performance machine but with a much more expensive price. After that, since it was too expensive, I decided to go home and did my own research. That's the time when I found out that I can get an equally powerful machine with less money and comes in with more accessories.

I was glad that I did my own research. I shouldn't be so lazy and reluctant when it comes to computer hardwares. Though I'm mostly dealing with animation and design, computer is what I use, thus it's necessary to know the most up to date info about it if I wanna stay on top of this industry.

Anyway, I'm sure I will do well with my new computer :)
