Today I had finished my 4 hr motorcycle refreshment course. I think I am getting familiar with the bike and definitely more confident in making turns.
Something to think about the 2 instructors I've had for the 2 day course. The first instructor I had last week was a young rider. He's the type of person that knows how to do things himself, demonstrates the riding skills well, but lacks the ability to explain things. The instructor I had today was a more mature rider. He seems more knowledgeable with the program and knows exactly what to tackle in a short program, which fits perfectly to my needs for the coming test.
I remembered last week I asked the young one a few questions about making turns. The final answer he gave me was not to think too much about the details. Which was somewhat true, because sometimes people get into too much details and they forget about the natural way of doing things. However, the mature one answered my questions in details and was able to give me the reasons behind doing certain maneuvers.
They were both very good riders themselves, but the way I looked at it, the experience favors the more mature instructor.
