Just recently I've realized the importance of warming up before exercises.
For myself, I take good care of my body, so I never skip my warm up drills before I do any exercises. However, I didn't really have the idea of how much differences it will make with it or without. The other day I've finally noticed the big difference while I was riding bike in the gym. Before I warmed up my body, I was riding at around 80 ~ 90 RPM. Though the ride was just to get myself sweat a bit before doing my proper warm ups, I felt the stiffness on my legs and was a bit challenged to consistently keep up the pace. However, after I've completely my daily drills of the usual weight training and rode the bike again, I could easily start from 90RPM and kept my pace at an average between 90 ~ 105RPM for a solid 10K ride.
Moreover, not only at sports. It works the same for life drawing as well. I've noticed the color of my shading becomes more solid after I've done a number of drawings. Whereas the ones I did at the beginning were rather light and soft.
Wow, that's why when I was in my life drawing class, we had the first 20 mins just to do scribbles of the model to get our eyes and hands warmed up.
Because it matters.
